I saw a extra few subscribers, but I noticed not all of you went over and took a look : (

Well if that's the case, I think I should go into a little more depth about what this other blog is about.

Currently, every time new leg wear is released, I'll be posting reviews of what it's like and how you might like to take a look yourself.

One of the most recent of these reviews was one a new brand. Yep, I write about start up brands and post of new manufacturers that I think deserve some extra visibility! The most recent post was Miss Oroblu, an absolutely wonderful new company, but I'd advise browsing their stunning collection.

I'll also be running a "15 Minutes of Fame" series, where I review a product specially, one I think you might be interested in.

Are American tan tights the latest trend?

A number of trend-setting celebrities have been spotted on the red carpet recently in what look like tan-coloured hosiery, clearly intended to cheat a shimmery, sunkissed look.

So if the likes of Beyonce, Sarah Jessica Parker, French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and our beloved Cheryl Cole are embracing American tan hosiery, does this mean the look is back in?

Grazia magazine seems to think so, as they’re currently championing the look and reporting that women now want to cheat their way to bronzed, shimmery pins. According to a hosiery brand survey, 81 per cent of women asked preferred to use tights to achieve a tanned and bare-legged look.

American tan tights were popular back in the 80s, but they unfortunately earned themselves the nickname ‘granny tights’ due to the thickness of the material and their propensity for falling down.

The latest craze in celebrity land is shredded, slashed or laddered hosiery, and the stars are going crazy for it. The look has been spotted on everyone from Lady Gaga and Lindsay Lohan (not entirely surprising) to Hollywood darling Dakota Fanning, model Alice Dellal and tights fan Miley Cyrus.

Pop princess and all-round style queen Kylie Minogue is back with a new album, Aphrodite, and as excited as everyone is about it, we couldn’t help noticing some of the stunning hosiery she’s been wearing in promotional photoshoots for it.

In one, Kylie teams a sleek, sexy black corset with the most adorable bow-tied footless tights in white and black. This has always been Kylie’s charm; teaming her vampishness with a little girly playfulness.

Now, we don’t know where Kylie got hers, but the bow hosiery trend is really hot at the moment so there are a few other options you can try to get the same look. For example:

The weather may have been scorching, but many celebrities strolling around the sights and sounds of this year’s Glastonbury festival still showed off their love of hosiery.

No longer just for the gym or for padding around at home - socks have become sexy again! Knee highs and ankle socks will be everywhere this summer, but how do you pull off the look without looking like you’re back in school?

Remember, there are two ways to wear socks: pretty and innocent or sexy and bold. Here’s how to style up your pair, no matter what length they are...

• Ankle socks are best worn pretty and feminine for a really youthful look, but that isn’t to say you can’t add a splash of bold colour. Choosing the right tights to suit both you and what you’re wearing isn’t quite as simple as picking out a colour and size. There are heaps of other options available, meaning you can break away from your boring black opaques and find an exciting new pair to fall in love with!

One of the key choices to make when buying tights is between different finishes. Here’s just a handful of fabulous finishes you may come across when browsing for hosiery online:

• Shiny – A word of warning with shiny tights; they are best suited to a) confident ladies wanting to make their curvaceous legs a focal point, b) cyclists, or c) performers (think Dita von Teese)

• Satiny – Tights with a satin sheen are flattering for nearly every shape and size. Without being too over the top, they give legs a natural, just-moisturised look.

• Matte – Although offering a flatter look, matte tights (as long as not too thick) are very fashionable and go with most outfits.

Hosiery and tights to make your legs look longer

Most women know that it isn’t just one part of an outfit that can make you look longer and leaner; it’s the whole ensemble. However, once you’ve got the clothes and shoes combination right – the best advice is to wear above-the-knee skirts and heels - this is where tights can make a big difference to leg length.

Here are some of the best leg-lengthening styles and ideas to try out:

• Match shoe colour with hosiery colour (everything except white – it’s a little too clinical) to create an unbroken line to draw the eye in and make your pins look miles long

The latest celebrity tights trend is perfectly demonstrated by style queen Gwen Stefani as she stepped out with husband Gavin Rosdale last weekend at the opening of Tod’s Boutique in Beverly Hills.

Denier is a measurement of the thickness of tights and can range from 1 to over 100. The lower the denier number, the sheerer (more transparent) the tights appear; although it also means that they are more fragile.

I own a very small fashion designing company. In fact, I work from my basement designing unique gowns and outfits for a select number of clients. I enjoy my work and find it very rewarding although I do have dreams of making a name for myself in the big fashion world. I’ve seen many trends come and go and what I have noticed lately is how many new designs are adding stockings to their look.

I’ve run with the idea of using different coloured tights to the clothes that I’ve been designing for my clients and all of them are very happy with the addition. It seems that the tanned bare leg is out and has been replaced with lots of texture and colour. I’m enjoying this new trend and really hope it sticks around for a while.

My clients range in age from 15 to 75 and it seems no matter what the age there is always a nice look to add some type of hosiery to the outfit. The younger girls want the bright colours where my older clients want something less flashy and sexier or more feminine.

I really love how the fish-net stockings have come back into style and I have used this look on many of the outfits I’ve created for my younger clients. Fish-net is flirtatious, daring, and edgy and I always like to put some kind of edge in what I create. My clients are always thrilled to try something new and allow me a great deal of artistic imagination when it comes to designing their new looks.

I really love seeing my more mature clients step out of their comfort zones and try wearing one of my new looks that I use tights as an accessory. I’ve been given many compliments for my designs; I’ve even gotten an invitation to fashion week in New York to show a few of my designs at a small, independent show. When my fiancé and I decided to get engaged a few months ago, I had so many things to do. I had no idea how much work planning a wedding actually was. Between ordering the flowers and deciding on what type of food to serve to our guests, the last thing I wanted to do was run all over town to pick out gifts for my bridesmaids.
